Can't Take My Eyes Off You

As many of you know, my brother married his love three Saturdays ago. For your reading, I give you my best man toast: Family, friends and guests, hello and welcome. For the benefit those of you who don't know me, I'm Terry’s brother – Casey. Though is the tradition for the best man to focus on the groom, I would like to take a moment and thank Janice for letting this megalomaniac stand in the spotlight for a few minutes on their wedding day. Also, if I may, Janice, you look stunning. After the happy couple announced their wedding date, I went to my calendar and wrote in pen: the Lee-Ryan Wedding on September 16, 2006, erasing a rugby match that was scheduled. I had no expectations about the wedding day, except that I would be here – present. My hope was that I would be able in any way to ensure that the joy we all celebrate today becomes the memory that Terry and Janice treasure forever. When Terry asked me to be his best man, part of me was flattered, part of me was terrified...

I am copying some of Sheryl Crow's lyrics to "Safe and Sound," a song of the 2002 album, C'mon, C'mon . Ms. Crow performed this song in tribute and memory of those who died on September 11, 2001 at the 2002 MTV Music Video Awards.
